Hi everyone,

Lots of new peppers added this week, so be sure to check those out. We’ve started digging up our sweet potatoes and they’ll be available next week after they’ve cured for a little while. Hope you’ve all been enjoying the cooler weather. Enjoy this week’s offerings!

CSA Availability for 7/30

Hi everyone,

The peas are here! The peas are here! That’s the best news I can offer this week, as there’s not much else to report. The pink-eyed purple hulls are coming in, and we’ve got lady peas and crowder peas behind them. There are a lot of people who wait anxiously for their Southern peas and the time is finally upon us. We’ll all be out there picking peas ‘til the cows come home, or it’s time to pack up for market…

Enjoy this week’s offerings! See y’all on Wednesday.

CSA Availability for 7/23

Hello everyone,

We’ve added a few new things this week: okra, spaghetti squash and butternut squash. Since we had a cooler winter, our squash bug problem has not been bad at all this year and we’ve been able to grow winter squash which has proved challenging in the past. It feels a little strange to have butternuts and tomatoes at the same time, but maybe some new culinary creations are upon us. Spaghetti squash, however, I know goes great with fresh tomatoes and basil. Enjoy this week’s offerings!

Cedar Grove Farm CSA Availability for July 9

Ever wake up in the middle of the night and remember you forgot to do something? Oh yeah, Dylan and Caitlyn are in Florida for some well deserved R&R, and I was supposed to send the CSA availability message this week.

Okay, we are now open for business and the tomatoes are coming in. Two new items this week are a pint of mixed varieties of cherry tomatoes and our first slicer tomato – Big Boys. Everything else is back from last week. Hope you find some of your favorites.

And, one more reminder – Lindsey’s Culiary Market is open again and the pickups are back at Lindsey’s kitchen and at the new venue of the Downtown Athens Farmers Market at the Creature Comforts Brewery on the corner of Hancock and Pulaski (the old Snow Tire building).

Now I will go back to sleep and let you place your order for this week.

Regards, Jay

Reminder about CSA location change

Good morning,

Just reminding everyone that all the boxes will be going to the downtown market which has moved to the parking lot of Creature Comforts Brewery located at the corner of Pulaski and Hancock. We will be there from 4-7. See you then!

CSA Availability for 7/2 LOCATION & PICK-UP CHANGE!

Hi everyone,

We have some important news to share about our new downtown market location and pick-up change this week. Lindsey’s shop will be closed and all boxes (other than Oglethorpe) will be brought to the market. This will be our first week at our new location, Creature Comforts Brewery, which is located at 271 W Hancock Ave. It’s right on the corner of Pulaski and Hancock at the old Snow Tire. We will be set up in their lot adjacent to the building, but I’m sure the white tents will give us away. Parking is available in the lot across the street.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We are both nervous and excited about moving to a new location and hope it works out for the best. It will be a great opportunity to check out the new brewery if you’re into that kind of thing.

See ya’ll on Wednesday!

CSA Availability for 6/25

Hello,

It’s been a pretty standard week around here…sweating, hoeing, sweating, picking, planting, sweating, and so on. We’ve added a few herbs this week, but otherwise things are looking the same for now. The first round of cherry tomatoes will be here before you know it and the okra is on its way as well. If anyone wants to do a rain dance for us this week, that would be much appreciated. Thanks, and enjoy this week’s offerings!

Hi everyone,

I’m avoiding the ever-growing squash, zucchini, and cucumbers that need to be picked and updating the CSA instead. This week we’ve added pole beans, chives, lemon cucumbers, and flowers. The strawberries are no longer producing and this will probably be the last week for carrots. It’s about time to lay the spring crops to rest and focus on the summer goodies. Eating with the seasons can sometimes be bittersweet, but that allows us to appreciate what we have when we have it. There’s also a freezer full of strawberries that makes me feel a little better. Well, it’s about time I get outside…

Hope you find something you like this week.

Pick ups are from 4-7 at the downtown AFM, 4-6 at Lindsey’s Culinary Market, and 4-6 at Oglethorpe Fresh in Lexington.
