Tomatoes and broccoli at the same time! Market is open; enjoy the offerings!

Cedar Grove Farm

CSA Availability for 10/1

Hello everyone,

We still have a handful of summer items available, but the pickin’s are getting slim. Looks like the broccoli will be ready soon, and the kale and chard should be coming on too. New this week is our tasty arugula, picked at just the right size for a great salad. Enjoy the offerings.

The market is open!

CSA Availability for 9/17

Morning everyone,

My apologies for the late start. We have several new items this week including the first of our beloved sweet salad turnips, broccoli greens, radishes, edamame, and lima beans. This is my favorite time of year when the fall crops are trickling in but we still have the summer veggies too. Market is open, enjoy the offerings!

Hello friends and neighbors,

Dylan and Caitlyn are on a vacation this week, so I’m filling in to open the market. We are working hard to transition to our Fall garden. Our potato season is done but other things are coming on. We have lots of sweet potatoes, winter squash and arugula while still getting good harvests of okra, summer squash and some tomatoes. The greens and kale are looking good but still need another week, although the rains are giving them a real boost.

Market is open. Hope you find something you like.

Regards, Farmer Jay

Quality Control

Dear friends and neighbors,

We take quality control seriously at Cedar Grove Farm. When we found the last of our potatoes showing an unacceptable level of spots we decided to pull them out this week. So, no more potatoes and refunds for everyone who ordered them. Good news is we are digging up three different varieties of some fine looking sweet potatoes that will be available next week.

Regards, Jay

Hi all,

The first signs of fall are here – arugula and braising mix! I can’t wait to have a nice green salad this week. We were so close to having our greenhouse tomatoes ready now that the outdoor crop is done, but looks like that will have to wait til next week. We also added watermelons and white yam sweet potatoes to the market this week. Enjoy the offerings!

The Case of the Missing Cucumbers

Hi all,

Sorry, I meant to get this message out earlier today.

The weather last week did a number on the cucumbers. We are using our irrigation system to the maximum but sometimes nothing works like a good old fashion rain. We basically did not have any that met our standards.

I will reimburse all accounts that ordered the MarketMore Cucumbers this week. They will be unavailable on the Market list until and if they come back.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards, Farmer Jay

Hi all,

As promised, we have more squash and zucchini this week. This is our last round for the summer, so enjoy it while you can. The pink-eyed purple hulls are gone and the lady peas are in. They are so dainty and tasty. Our outdoor tomatoes are winding down, but we’ve got another round going in the greenhouse that should be ripening soon.

Seeds and starts have been planted for the fall now that the 100 degree weather has arrived… soon we’ll have kale and radishes and arugula and so many more great fall crops. I always start to crave greens at this time of year in anticipation of all the fall veggies we’ll soon be eating. For now we’ve still got tomatoes, squash, and peas to savor.

Have a happy and a healthy,

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the late market start this week. We are having some issues with our internet connection. This week we’ve added crowder peas and a little bit of our new zucchini crop that’s starting to come in. Next week we’ll have more squash and zucchini. Market is open now; enjoy the offerings!
